    Geschiedenis

MUNFLA was established by the Senate of Memorial University in 1968 to house materials that had been accumulating since 1962 when American folklorist Herbert Halpert joined the University faculty. Today about two-thirds of new collections are by students in the undergraduate and graduate Folklore programs at Memorial, the other third from professional researchers in Folklore and other fields, local broadcasters and other interested depositors.
