Scope and content
Series consists of vital statistics of the Fogo Island pastoral charge. This includes registers of baptism, marriage and burials for the pastoral charge.
Series is arranged as follows: Combined Baptism, 1860-1890, and Burial Register, 1874-1890, which covers the following communities: Barr'd Islands, Seldom-Come-By, Muddy Hole, Joe Batts Arm, Musgrave Harbour, Doting Cove and Indian Islands; Fogo Baptism Register, 1890-1927; Seldom and Indian Islands Mission Baptism Register, 1906-1917, Fogo Island Mission, 1928-1947, Marriage Register, 1890-1925; Fogo Methodist Mission Marriage Register, 1925-1947; Fogo Burial Register, 1890-1947; Change Islands Burial Register, 1947-1967; Seldom-Come-By & Indian Islands Mission Burials, 1907-1917.
The combined Baptism and Burial Register is very fragile condition. Marriages for dates 1873-1882 can be found in the private papers of Rev. T. Atkinson.
